Collection: The Classical Academy of Sarasota Required Summer Reading

The books below are part of the Lower School required summer reading program at The Classical Academy of Sarasota for Rising 1st through 6th Grades. These may be purchased or borrowed: 

• Rising 1st Grade:  Classic Starts Swiss Family Robinson (Required)
• Rising 2nd Grade:  Classic Starts Peter Pan (Required)
• Rising 3rd Grade: A Lion to Guard Us (Required)
• Rising 4th Grade: Charlotte’s Web and The Indian in the Cupboard -OR- Bridge to Terabithia
• Rising 5th Grade: Hatchet and Old Yeller (Both required). Optional: D’Aulaires Book of Greek Myths
• Rising 6th Grade: The Whipping Boy and Beowulf, by Michael Morpurgo (Required)

Required books for Rising 7th Grade and up will be provided by TCA. Students will receive their summer reading books in Literature class the week before final exams.  Students new to TCA may pick up their summer reading books from the registrar or from the front desk.
